We started with a statement against the negative stereotypical images fostered around the world that paints the proud 54 nations that make up the rich diverse continent of Africa as lacking in any way.

We decided to find visionaries in all 54 nations who were committed through action to change the narrative through self reliance and self governed economic empowerment. And that is how Kafe' 54 was birthed.

Born out of a collaboration between an American and South African with a mutual love of coffee and looking for a creative way to remove physical, political and socioeconomic borders that only serve to divide and stiffle ingenuity and innovation through collaboration and civil discourse.

People and culture

Our people are what make us unique. Rather than outsourcing our employment and recruiting process to the old ways of determining who is the "best fit", we decided to use a commision based approach to hiring and provide them with an environment that supports professional growth.

We are strong believers in giving our employees a voice. Our teams are put together with the concept of appreciating the cultural experience to ensure maximum productivity and engagement.

Our approach is simple. We engage brand ambassadors who are provided with a simple mandate, "Use your unique link to gain engagement and brand recognition through buying our branded merchandise". Also get followers to our social media accounts.

There isn't a lot of guesswork involved. When someone makes a purchase using your link they get quality merchandise. We obtain more brand recognition. You are given a report showing what was purchased under your link and 10% of the profit is paid directly to you!

The best part is by using the approach of online sales, it reduces the dependency of external investors to build our coffee shops "entrepreneurial hubs" in each nation and allows a path for brand ambassadors to be the "1st in line" for franchise opportunities!
